Woodapple’s service engagement with L&S started in 2011 with the design of a new website that would disseminate information about the firm, its capabilities and valuable knowledge about Indian laws. We worked closely with its top management to define its new corporate identity keeping in view the firm’s objective to differentiate its Corporate Law & IPR services, while simultaneously consolidating its strength in Tax (for which it is renowned). This grew quickly into a full-fledged creative consultancy for all the key requirements for the firm for information dissemination & communication through newsletters, brochures, reports, and PPTs.

In 2019, with its rapid growth in business, people, and services, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan was once again looking to change their brand perception to being a full-service law firm not just for tax and International Trade. With the requirement came the need for an identity and website redesign and content strategy to showcase how the firm offers the best of everything when it comes to law. Woodapple stepped in to make this happen and create a strong brand for L&S.

As part of the brand rebuilding process, L&S needed a website that reflected the combined strengths of the firm's traditional roots that dates back to 1985 and their friendlier, modern approach. Our task was to come up with an idea that merges these new and existing brand value of L&S and experiences in both an aesthetic sense and regarding the site’s content. It was essential that L&S has a new brand language to tell their story and convey the evolved value of their firm to their existing and potential clients.

Throughout our design process, our team worked with L&S to ensure that our designs integrate a modern outlook of the firm, yet preserving the legacy they carry. Keeping the new branding in mind, our team also helped L&S in designing their marketing materials, including backdrops, flyers, brochures, email invites and more, for offline use.

A new website was also developed on a more user-friendly and flexible platform, Umbraco. With over 500,000 active installations, Umbraco is one of the most deployed open source CMS systems on the Microsoft stack and was a perfect fit for the requirements of new L&S site.

Each section of the website was rebranded around the firm’s traditional values and its long history. Classical, 2-tone design for the website was created focused on the firms' Thought Leadership.

Regarding site content, our content and editorial team helped L&S organize their content to illustrate the firm’s expertise effectively. On the landing pages, focus was given on leading with bite-sized content and statistics to promptly showcase who L&S is and what they do best.

To bring in a human element, we prioritized including a “people” section on the site to give visitors a glimpse at who makes up the L&S team. Even the editorial descriptions of the professionals were boiled down to presenting the most important information in a clean, consistent, friendly, and thoughtful manner.

For better site structure, usability, and search optimization, we cross-linked the essential elements of the pages like the Practice and Industry Expertise. The entire website was designed to ensure a seamless mobile as well as desktop experience.

L&S now has a fully-integrated website that reflects the best of the firm’s advantages. The site gives clients a succinct, yet a bold impression of the new brand and what L&S has to offer.

Woodapple also helped L&S previously to launch their website in Chinese and to come up with an internship application tracking and ranking system that is now being adopted by their internal HR and talent management teams.

Apart from this, our teams have collaborated in past to enhance and extended the brand identity of L&S across their corporate office at New Delhi via environment design – reception, board rooms, thematic conference rooms, office spaces and cafeteria through walls ideas, calendars & poster designs for a seamless experience.
